The Environmental Sustainability and Libraries Special Interest Group (ENSULIB) is hosting a two-day satellite meeting to be held at the Philological Library of Freie Universität in vibrant Berlin, Germany. We are looking for proposals that address any areas of collaboration leading to successful sustainable library buildings, practices, programs and management. Proposals can be individual or team presentations, research studies, case studies or panel discussions.

Topics of interest

Topics can be as varied as the potential range of collaborators. The papers can address but are not limited to:

• Educating librarians about climate change
• Educating library users about climate change
• Sustainable library buildings
• Sustainable library equipment
• Sustainable library management
• Sustainable library services

We welcome and encourage proposals relating to libraries of all types, including public, national, university and special from around the world.

Important Dates:

Deadline for proposal submission: 30 January 2017 1 March 2017

Proposals for papers should be in English with an abstract of 200 words maximum as well as brief biographical details of the author/s. The proposals will undergo a peer review process by the Evaluating Committee and ten to twelve papers will be selected for the two-day conference.

The full paper should be delivered in English as simultaneous translation will not be available. If a paper is selected, authors must commit to presenting it in Berlin.

Registration fee: 70 € (Early Bird 50 €) per person / Students 30 € (Early Bird 20 €)

Please note

At least one of the paper’s authors must be present to deliver a summary of the paper during the program of the Satellite Meeting.

All papers presented at the WLIC 2017 will be made available online via the IFLA Library under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license.

Authors of accepted papers must complete the IFLA Authors’ Permission Form. All expenses for attending the Satellite Meeting (e.g. travel, accommodation, etc.) are the responsibility of the authors/presenters. No financial support can be provided by IFLA.

The ENSULIB website will be updated with the Satellite Meeting program details and registration options in early 2017.
